Is The Request For More Clothing-Optional Places Rewarding or A Big Waste of Time?

White House Request for Clothing-Optional Places

More clothing-optional areas - For those of you unaware, on January 13th, Larry Darter of the Dallas Examiner created a "We the People" petition that calls for all Federal lands to have clothing-optional areas. It's puttered along for several weeks and AANR has put their stamp of approval on it. Now it's just over 2,500 signatures of the 100,000 desired. With just two weeks to go, it does not look like it'll meet it's target. I 've a somewhat different stance.
Initially, only 5,000 signatures were desired for the White House to issue a response. Quickly after launching, the amount jumped to 25,000 and now it is 100,000. Even with the amount of signatures needed ever growing, achieving the aim does not ensure an official statement. Previously there have been petitions to label GMO food, legalize cannabis, and close Guantanamo Bay that have all surpassed the demands, but still fell on deaf ears. The White House is just cherry-picking what they deem appropriate and will get them the most press. Even if this request for more clothes-optional outdoor spaces does reach its goal and the White House picks it as among their significant issues, there's absolutely no indicator that the reply will truly address the issue or be serious by any means.

Another thing to mention is that there currently are not any federal laws against casual, non sexual nudity. Each of the laws on record have now been made strictly by the states. The consequence of the request is that every national park and forest would quarter off sections for clothing-optional use. After that, who orders where these clothing-optional places are? Or how about the rear of any cave occupied by a grizzly bear? Sure, they are clothes-optional also. Now, with government sanctioned clothing-optional places all over the place, there would need certainly to be way to control all the naked people from wondering out of the designated places. It wouldn't be long before a national law was signed, making all non-sexual nudity prohibited. By taking this to the national level, there is the possibility of it backfiring, because there is really nothing to legalize.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against a world with more nudie areas. It would be amazing if I turned out to be wrong, and the request ended up receiving an official, favorable answer in the White House. FKK did post about the petition on Facebook and Twitter. Getting https://ams.ceu.edu/optimal/optimal.php?url=http://videonudism.com of the human anatomy is what it's all about. But when it comes to social nudity, I do not believe that creating little clothes-optional zones is the response, and by utilizing the government's "We The People" website, with its trivial answers and lack luster track record, doesn't help with the credibility of the cause.
It should be noted that the Naturist Action Committee issued an advisory reacting to the request (link below). While they did not discount it, some have been surprised by their less-than-enthusiastic response. Rather than encourage everyone to sign, NAC essentially said they leave it up to the person to determine whether to sign it.
